To learn the grammatical time, we put verbs in the Fields of Time. For the FUTURE field, all verbs can come together with the verb form “will”.
Let us try to see the word will on its own, in all our Fields of Time.
We can say we will be, will have, or will do, for our FUTURE Field, but we do not say for the word will itself,
There is no such standard language pattern. Our FUTURE Field for the verb form “will” is blank.
Let us reason on language form. We use the word form “will” to talk about the future, but the form of the word itself is PRESENT.
We began reasoning on grammar and human minds in CHAPTER 1. Humans have evolved grammars along with perception for three-dimensional space. There never has been, and there is not at hand really, any fourth dimension, as time.
The real time we live in is always the PRESENT. We can make predictions on the real-time future, but we never can travel into it, as there hardly would be a way to take our space with us: well, our three-dimensional bodies, for example.
Everyday life allows quite exact predictions, as for one person, or a family, or a group of people. We can think about going to school or work. Owing to this experience, we have a standard language use where “will”, grammatically a PRESENT form, maps on the real-time future.
Travel in Grammar visuals have all our core words in Fields, PRESENT, PAST, and FUTURE.
Our core words are verbs. A verb is a word saying what we do, what others do, or what happens. Feel welcome to the Extras: What is a verb?
